The State Customs Committee warned Belarusians that the quota for duty-free import of electric vehicles will soon be exhausted.

cherikovnews.by September 5, 2026 11:34 The quota for duty-free import of electric vehicles by individuals will be fully exhausted in the near future. This was reported by the State Customs Committee, writes sb.by. "As of September 4, the remaining quota for duty-free import of such vehicles by citizens is 98 units," the committee noted.

It was previously reported that the quota for duty-free import of electric vehicles by legal entities was exhausted in July. When planning further imports, the need to pay a customs duty of 15% of the vehicle's value will be taken into account. At the same time, the exhaustion of the quota does not affect the ability of legal entities to apply the VAT exemption for electric vehicles that are no more than five years old from the date of release.
