The Gomel Region State Control Committee identified that one of the region's enterprises illegally obtained 1.6 million rubles of state funds earmarked for the creation of specialized industrial equipment, the department’s Telegram channel reports.

"The project implementation work continued for almost two years, but during that time the enterprise was unable to produce equipment that met the technical specifications and design documentation," the committee said.

Moreover, salaries for scientific staff who had not actually participated in the equipment development were claimed from the budget.

On the committee’s recommendation, the Ministry of Industry decided to return the funds spent by the enterprise on equipment production to the budget. More than 400,000 rubles have been returned so far. The reimbursement of the remaining amount remains under control.
