The situation with deposits and loans in Belarus. The National Bank issued a statement.

The National Bank of Belarus issued a statement. It reported on the rates on the deposit and credit markets of the country in August.

They were such, as stated in the release, that they allowed maintaining the attractiveness of savings in Belarusian rubles and credit activity in the economy.

As reported by the press service of the National Bank, in August the highest level was recorded for irrevocable deposits of individuals in Belarusian rubles with a term of more than three years.

The average interest rate on such products reached 14.2% per annum.

If we consider the entire segment of new ruble term deposits of the population, the average level was 10.7% per annum.

On the credit market, the dynamics remained downward. For new market loans (for the period of use without installment conditions) that banks extended to legal entities in the national currency, the average rate in August was 10.1% per annum.

One month earlier — in July 2026 — it was 10.5%. For individuals, the indicator was 14.1% per annum, whereas in July it was 14.3%.
