The first transaction for the sale of duck meat was conducted at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange during exchange trading for the domestic market. The buyer was a major domestic manufacturer of meat products, while the seller was an agricultural enterprise from the Brest region. Details were provided to sb.by by the exchange's press service.

The expansion of the assortment of meat and meat products sold through BUTB has become another step in the development of this important segment of the exchange commodity market, which accounted for more than 16 percent of the total volume of exchange sales of agricultural products in the current year.

"Beef and poultry meat, meat by-products and semi-finished products are in demand both domestically and abroad, as clearly evidenced by statistical data. Thus, over the 8 months of 2026, exports of meat products through the exchange grew by 7 percent, to 197.4 million dollars. The main buyers were companies from Azerbaijan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan. At the same time, the Chinese direction developed particularly dynamically. Shipments to the Celestial Empire increased 2.2 times in value terms. At the same time, on the domestic market, sales volumes remained at last year's level, but the circle of regular buyers expanded from 146 to 164, and sellers — from 112 to 119," said the commodity exchange's press secretary, Roman Yaniv.

Three trading sessions per week are held at BUTB for the sale of meat products on the domestic market and the same number for the foreign market. Chilled and frozen beef predominates in the structure of transactions.
