The main goal of the event is to promote the professional growth of teachers of specialized classes.

In Grodno, the annual international pedagogical forum "PedSTART" is being held, which has brought together around 120 teachers working in specialized classes with a pedagogical focus. As Professor Galina Barkherit of the Grodno Regional Institute for Education Development told a BELTA correspondent, the project became international in 2023, with specialists from Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University (RF) and the education department of the Kostanay region's akimat in Kazakhstan joining in.

Interactive platforms and new resources

The forum's program is divided into several sections. A vernissage of pedagogical practices with an exhibition of educational and methodological materials from educational institutions in the Grodno region has been organized. On a special portal, presentations by scientists and practitioners from Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan have been published. For the convenience of participants, the theoretical part has been moved to a virtual resource launched in 2025, with materials available via QR code at any time. Traditionally, a block of pedagogical workshops with master classes is being held. Also, for the first time, a pedagogical meetup "Relay of Mastery and Continuity" with the participation of pedagogical dynasties was held at the forum. The event will conclude with a ceremony honoring teachers of specialized classes.

Experience and successes of the Shchuchin district

As part of "PedSTART", a presentation of effective practices for supporting pedagogical specialization in the Shchuchin district was held. Zhanna Metko, Deputy Head of the Education Department of the Shchuchin District Executive Committee, said that the first pedagogical class was opened in the district on September 1, 2016. Currently, a continuous model of professional self-determination has been established in the region. Its key element is the specialization week, which culminates in a pedagogical festival that brings together experienced specialists, young teachers, and schoolchildren. Throughout the year and during vacations, students undergo pedagogical trials, participate in quests and photo challenges. As a result of this work, more than 60% of graduates of specialized classes have enrolled in pedagogical specialties. Every year, the Shchuchin district accepts around 30 young teachers, including graduates of these classes.

Goals of the forum

According to the organizers, the main goal of the event is to promote the professional growth of teachers of specialized classes. The forum allows teachers to assess their level of mastery, outline trajectories for further development, and exchange experiences with colleagues from different countries.
