The number of unemployed people in Poland rose by 55,000 in August compared with the same period last year, reaching 911,000. This was reported by BELTA citing Polish media and the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

The month‑to‑month increase in registered unemployed and the significant decline in registered job offers indicate a more cautious approach by employers to creating new jobs, the ministry said.

In August, employers reported only 34.3 thousand vacancies to employment services, which is 4.5 thousand fewer than in July and 5 thousand fewer than in August 2025.

According to the ministry, the highest unemployment rate so far has been recorded in Shidlovetsky District (Masovian Voivodeship), Bzhozuvsky District (Podkarpackie Voivodeship), and Pshisutsky District (Masovian Voivodeship).
