Sales of the new iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max start on September 18. However, some bloggers, media outlets, and other enthusiasts have already gotten access to the devices. As insider Ice Universe reports, this year's Pro Max model "charges faster than any previous iPhone." GSMArena took note of that.

According to Ice Universe's publication, the iPhone 18 Pro Max charges from 0 to 50% in 15 minutes — as the company previously claimed. Moreover, the device gains 34% charge in just ten minutes, and to reach a full 100% charge it takes 55 minutes (with a suitable adapter).

For comparison: the iPhone 17 Pro Max took 72 minutes to go from 0 to 100%. Its peak charging power was 35 W. In the updated iPhone 18 Pro Max, it is already 52 W. It is also worth noting that the battery capacity of the 18 Pro Max is higher than that of its predecessor (5391 mAh and 4823 mAh respectively for the nano-SIM variants).

Nevertheless, Apple phones still lag behind those of Chinese manufacturers, which often feature 100/120-watt chargers. As an option, the company may consider such chargers excessively powerful from the standpoint of battery wear.
