Behind every festive masterpiece lies delicate manual labor.
At the Neman glass factory in Berezovka, work is in full swing to create New Year's collections. Local craftsmen transform fragile glass and noble crystal into a real winter fairy tale, creating elegant dishes for festive table settings and unique souvenirs. Berezovsk crystal has long become synonymous with coziness and genuine New Year's magic, which is why the demand for the company's festive novelties is traditionally high.
– This year, we have prepared a rich decorative assortment. These include various figurines made of glass and crystal, snowmen, Father Frosts, Christmas trees, as well as symbols of the upcoming year – goats and sheep. The main highlight of the season is unique New Year's scenes embodied in crystal designs. Usually, crystal is associated with classic geometric cutting. We, however, approached the task creatively and created festive sets of glasses, cups, jugs, and goblets with New Year's patterns. Beautiful dishes, elegant vases for serving and table settings create that very sincere atmosphere of the holiday and the belief that the next year will bring only the best, said Sergei Protopopov, the leading marketer of the Neman glass factory.
Behind every festive masterpiece lies delicate manual labor. Vadim Bartashevich, a separate worker for blown products at the experimental and artistic department, spoke about the details of creating New Year's figurines and the magic of hot glass:
– Each New Year's item is unique, with its own characteristics. If a horse figurine has long legs, then a goat's legs are shorter and more elegant. To convey the texture of the goat's fur, we use a special decorative crumb, which results in a fluffy New Year's coat. I put my soul into each item, trying to add something of my own, creatively refining the shape. It's pleasant to realize that the things created by my hands bring people joy. I remember my father's main advice well: in our business, you can't rush, every movement with glass mass needs to be calculated in advance. For example, to blow a blank-bottle under a jug or decanter, one technique is needed, and for a miniature souvenir figurine, a completely different one is required.
The products of the glass factory cause unprecedented excitement among foreign collectors from all over the world. The factory's social media receives numerous messages from connoisseurs of exclusivity from Israel, Latin American countries, as well as European states – Lithuania, Spain, and Poland. Foreign buyers appreciate the rarity of these items so much that they are willing to personally travel to get them. In particular, Polish collectors specially plan a trip to Brest. For the masters of "Neman", this is the best reward, as the result of their long and painstaking work brings people genuine joy.
