Belarus's gold and foreign exchange reserves as of October 1, 2026 amounted to $14.633 billion, decreasing in September by $609 million. The main reason for the decline was the fall in gold prices on international markets.
This was reported by the press service of the National Bank, according to BELTA.
Gold and foreign exchange reserves are one of the key indicators of the country's financial stability, and their dynamics are under close scrutiny by the National Bank.
According to the regulator, as of October 1, 2026 the volume of Belarus's international reserve assets amounted to $14.633 billion.
In September this figure decreased by $609 million.
As explained by the National Bank, the main cause is the decline in the value of gold on world markets.
The structure of the reserves remains diversified.
The largest share is accounted for by foreign currency assets and monetary gold.
The volume of foreign exchange reserves as of October 1 reached $5.9917 billion, increasing over the month by $74.1 million.
At the same time, the volume of monetary gold decreased by $675.1 million and amounted to $7.2376 billion.
Despite the decline, the current level of reserves significantly exceeds the target set by monetary and credit policy: by the end of 2026 it should be no less than $9.2 billion.
Thus, despite the September reduction, Belarus's gold and foreign exchange reserves remain at a level ensuring financial stability and the fulfillment of obligations.
