Mogilev Oblispolkom and the Surkhondaryo Region Administration of Uzbekistan Sign Cooperation Agreement

Chairman of the Mogilev Oblispolkom, Anatoly Isachenko, met today with the official delegation from the Surkhondaryo Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by the governor of Surkhondaryo Region, Ulugbek Kosimov. The event also saw the participation of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Belarus, Nuriddin Mamajonov, the political affairs advisor of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus, Azimjon Ozotov, the deputy governor Farhodjon Ismoilov, and business representatives.

During the business program, the parties discussed prospects for expanding production cooperation, including collaboration in the agro‑industrial complex, furniture manufacturing, strengthening cooperation in the social sphere and tourism. Particular attention was paid to issues of increasing mutual trade turnover and logistical partnership, including taking into account the potential of using transit routes to access markets in Central, South and West Asia.

Participants confirmed a mutual interest in implementing joint investment projects and exchanging experience on import substitution. The outcome of the meeting was an agreement to create conditions for the active development of bilateral ties on a long‑term basis.

As Anatoly Isachenko noted, representatives of Uzbek business circles had previously undertaken business trips to the Mogilev region. As a result, there are already first concrete agreements, and 14 enterprises with Uzbek capital have been created.
