Belarus’s gold and foreign exchange reserves cover more than 3.2 months of imports of goods and services. This is stated in the macroeconomic review of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), BELTA reports.

In Belarus, gold and foreign exchange reserves increased by more than $1 billion in August 2026, reaching $15.24 billion at the beginning of September 2026.

“The main growth factor was an increase in the value of gold in the reserves structure by $0.93 billion due to rising global prices (plus 13.3% over the month). The growth of reserve assets in foreign currency continued (plus $0.11 billion). The resulting reserve level ensures coverage of more than 3.2 months of imports of goods and services,” the EDB noted.
