In October 2026, the State Educational Institution "Center for Training, Retraining, and Advanced Training of Personnel of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee in Gorodok" is celebrating its anniversary. For four decades, this institution has been welcoming its students, opening its doors with joy.
40 years is an age of flourishing, wisdom, and creative energy. For history, such years are just a moment, but for people whose fates are connected with the Center, it is a whole era. And the anniversary date is a time for summing up, reflecting on achievements, successes, and plans for the future.
Over these years, the Center has undergone a long journey not only of formation but also of accumulating experience, improving the quality of work, creative search, and improving its material and technical base. The history of the Center has been shaped by its long-standing efforts, victories, and searches, acquiring authority and accumulating experience.
The training center in Gorodok was founded in 1986 by the decision of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee. The main task was to ensure the improvement of the professional level of specialists of medium and high levels in agricultural areas, retraining and advanced training of workers in mass professions, and meeting the needs of district farms in obtaining new professions or qualifications for their employees. And on October 29, the Center (then still the courses of the Mogilev Regional Agro-Industrial Complex) opened its doors to its first students, who were in high demand in agricultural organizations.
Over 40 years of operation, the Center has been headed by responsible and dedicated professionals. These include Pyotr Yevtykhievich Shashenko (1986-1993), thanks to whose talent and experience the Center for Advanced Training of Agricultural Leaders and Specialists gained great popularity in the Mogilev region, and the contribution of the first director to the development of agricultural production was recognized at the level of regional and republican leadership. Alexander Vasilyevich Novik (1995-2002) made a significant contribution to strengthening the material and technical base of the institution and creating comfortable conditions for students during their studies. Yakov Ustinovich Yarotsky (2002-2024), whose long-standing conscientious work and significant personal contribution to the development of agricultural production were noted by the Thanks of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Honorary Certificates, and other high awards of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Continuation of traditions
Currently, the Center has 32 employees for whom work is not just a duty, but a calling. They demonstrate kindness, a creative approach, and genuine love for their chosen professional path, working with their hearts and souls. We are all one big and friendly family consisting of several generations, selflessly in love with their work. Everyone had to work hard and overcome numerous difficulties to achieve success and gain authority.
Gratitude and a low bow are due to the employees who have worked most of their lives at the institution and continue to work, being the "golden fund" of the collective. These are S. A. Tikhnovetskaya, T. D. Kalinina, and Ya. U. Yarotsky. On the anniversary of our birthday, we recall with gratitude those who have dedicated many years to the successful activity of the Center – F. M. Yakubovsky, V. A. Gomonova, N. T. Ishchuk, S. G. Kormnov, M. M. Shved, A. G. Shashenko, L. M. Novikova, T. A. Molchanova, L. V. Muraleva, R. A. Savonchik, G. T. Brezgunova, N. A. Brezgunova, V. A. Zalensky, E. I. Yakubovsky, E. V. Dobrovolsky, and others. Unfortunately, it is impossible to mention everyone by name on the page of the newspaper. Each of them is a whole era of our institution, a whole chapter of our life. May God grant you health, our dear ones! A low bow for your many years of work.
Thanks for cooperation
On such a significant anniversary birthday, we would like to express words of gratitude to the committee on agriculture and food of the Mogilev Oblispolkom for understanding and financial support, and the opportunity to work for the benefit of the region. Our team is also grateful for mutual cooperation and assistance in organizing the educational process to the rector of the UO "BGSHA" V. V. Velikanov and the academy's teachers, and to the heads of agricultural organizations of the district and region, thank you for providing the material and technical base and production sites for conducting theoretical and practical classes.
For an enterprise or organization, a period of 40 years is a serious path of formation and development. The Center has managed to establish a system of training and retraining of personnel, while keeping pace with the times and introducing new forms of work. The contribution it makes to the training and retraining of specialists for agricultural enterprises contributes to the development of the agricultural sector as a whole. At all times, our Center has been and remains a reliable partner for those who value mutual understanding and striving for success.
From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate the veterans, the current team, and the listeners on this landmark anniversary. Thank you for your work!
