The State Customs Committee has announced that the duty-free quota for importing electric vehicles by individuals has been exhausted.

This means that for any further customs clearance of an electric vehicle, a customs duty of 15% of the vehicle's value must be paid.

VAT exemption remains

The end of the quota does not cancel another benefit. Owners can still use the VAT exemption when importing electric vehicles, provided that no more than five years have passed since the vehicle's manufacture date.

This benefit is provided for by Decree No. 92 of the President of Belarus dated March 12, 2020.
