In Vileyka, construction of a new bridge at the entrance to the city has been completed. Work began in April 2025 and was finished ahead of schedule, despite the scale of the project.

A key feature was that traffic was never interrupted — neither during the construction of the structure nor during the demolition of the old bridge.

Drivers did not have to look for detour routes when entering or leaving the city.

Safety, infrastructure and monument

The result of the construction was not only a renewed road surface. Around the stele, a circular traffic flow has been organized, pedestrian and bike paths have been laid out, and exits to nearby settlements have been equipped. For the safety of road users, barriers and modern lighting have been installed. A monument — a T-72A tank — has been erected, and a parking area has appeared next to it.

Those who drove over the bridge during the works will remember the endless trucks carrying sand, metal, and concrete.

Now residents and visitors of Vileyka can walk across the fully completed bridge and appreciate the result — it has transformed the appearance of the city entrance, making it modern and convenient.
