In Cherykov, as part of the nationwide Unified Safety Day, tactical and special exercises were held with the participation of civil defense units. The administrative building and the territory of Cherykov City Gas were the venues, where enterprise staff together with rescue service representatives practiced actions in emergency situations.

Before the practical activities began, a discussion was held with the gas utility staff on the goals and objectives of Unified Safety Day. The organization's chief engineer, Nikolai Nikolayev, spoke about the significance of this day for Belarus and what such events are aimed at. Special attention was paid to increasing readiness for emergencies and production safety. Deputy head of the Cherykov District Department for Emergencies (ROCS) Yegor Solodkin demonstrated to employees how to properly use a self-rescuer — a device that temporarily protects the respiratory organs, eyes, and face from smoke and toxic gases during evacuation from a smoke-filled room.

After the theoretical part, the practical exercises began. The first stage involved practicing fire evacuation. According to the scenario, a car caught fire in one of the bays adjacent to the administrative building, which was immediately reported to the Cherykov ROCS; the fire alarm was activated, after which all employees quickly and safely left the building. At that moment, fire crews from Fire and Rescue Station No. 1 were already rushing to the fire scene, where they practiced the fire extinguishing algorithm.

The second part of the exercises focused on eliminating an emergency situation at a fire- and explosion-hazardous facility. Civil defense units of the Cherykov Gas Service participated. According to the exercise scenario, the emergency technical team had to eliminate damage to the gas networks, which required coordinated and prompt action. Special attention was given to the coordination of actions and compliance with safety regulations.

Representatives of the Cherykov ROCS closely monitored the clear execution of all stages of the tactical and special exercises. Deputy head of the Emergencies Department Yegor Solodkin and senior engineer of the Sector for Organization of Functioning of the State System for Prevention and Liquidation of Emergencies and Civil Defense Ruslan Savkin assessed the correctness of task fulfillment, the coordination of interaction between units, and compliance with all safety standards.

Following the exercises, they noted the good quality of organization and professionalism of the services involved, expressed confidence that regular conduct of the Unified Safety Day and tactical‑special exercises will maintain a high level of readiness of all services and civil defense formations, and will also improve safety culture in the workplace.
