In July-August 2026, the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus conducted a comprehensive republican sociological study involving 2045 respondents from all regions of the country.

The overall level of socio-economic conditions in their locality was rated as high by 71.2% of respondents. This covers a wide range of aspects including the variety of goods available in stores, timely garbage collection, improvement of territories, operation of schools, kindergartens, healthcare facilities, relationships with neighbors, and how local government functions.

87.9% of respondents were satisfied with the operation of retail outlets, while 64.3% were satisfied with the functioning of public catering facilities. Head of the economic analysis department at the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Studies, Irina Rusak noted that this indicator has increased compared to the previous social survey.

63.7% of research participants positively assessed opportunities for rest and leisure activities. 72.2% of respondents were satisfied with public transport operations, 70.4% with road quality, 61.2% with utility services, and 62.7% with yard equipment, children's playgrounds, and streets.

"This sphere is something we encounter daily, so the high figure indicates that citizens feel real improvements in travel accessibility and comfort," Irina Rusak emphasized. "Regarding road quality satisfaction, there is an increase of nearly 1.5 times. This result speaks to systematic work on reducing potholes and improving road surface quality. Satisfaction with utility services also grew thanks to large-scale infrastructure modernization. Artesian water and housing repairs play an important role as well."

Healthcare institution operations were positively evaluated by 64.9% of respondents, but there are also questions concerning this sector. As the BISI specialist noted, people, for example, complain about the presence of queues.
