The UP "Beltechosmotr" reminded about this, noting that there are many questions from car owners regarding the new amendment, reports abw.by.

This concerns the Resolution of the Council of Ministers dated May 13, 2026 No. 244, which approved a new Regulation on the procedure for conducting state technical inspection of motor vehicles.

According to the document, if a vehicle is sold during the validity period of the permit to participate in road traffic, the new owner will not be required to undergo another technical inspection and obtain a new permit. The existing permission remains valid until the end of the established term.

Information about change of ownership and new registration documents will be automatically transferred from the GAI (Road Traffic Inspectorate) information systems into a unified technical inspection database.

However, the new provision will come into effect only after six months following official publication of the document – from November 16, 2026.

Until this date, the previous procedure applies. After registering a vehicle, the new owner must submit the motor vehicle for state technical inspection no later than 10 days from the date of registration.

Also emphasized by "Beltechosmotr", is that after the new rules come into force, there will be no need to apply for transferring the permit to participate in road traffic – all necessary information will be updated automatically.
