Standards must move forward, driving our manufacturers to adopt innovative technologies so that products meet high requirements on external markets. This was stated by Dmitry Basco, Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization, before the start of the conference dedicated to Standardization Day and World Standardization Day, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

The head of the agency noted that today more than 32,000 standards have been developed in Belarus. This is the result of years of work by experts creating a foundation for the development of the national economy. A key trend and challenge of the present time is anticipatory standardization.

"This is an export component, elements of competitiveness, and economic issues. In this field, highly qualified specialists should work, closely linked with the real sector of the economy, from which requests should primarily come, and we should develop precisely the standards that are in demand," he emphasized.

Special attention in the industry is being paid to the digitalization of standards development processes to increase their efficiency, as well as the implementation of artificial intelligence tools. "When it comes to the application of AI, we must approach it very carefully and cautiously, understanding that the human factor must remain," the chairman of the State Standardization Committee drew attention.

Dmitry Basco reminded that at the upcoming ceremony, the winners of the fifth republican competition "Best Specialist in Standardization" among 33 organizations in 10 categories will be awarded.
