Discounted prices on essential goods for retirees, people with disabilities, large families, and other vulnerable population groups will remain in effect at least until the end of the year. The relevant agreement was signed by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) and major retail chains across the country.

The signing took place at the "Pershy Natsyyanalny Gandlevy dom" shopping center.

Which goods and what discounts

Starting July 1, the list of discounted goods will see some minor changes but will remain substantial — 30 groups of essential food items. The discount will be up to 10%.

The list includes:

Bread and flour;

Cereals (oatmeal, pearl barley, and now also buckwheat);

Pasta;

Meat: beef, pork, chicken carcasses and chicks;

Dairy products: milk, kefir, sour cream, cottage cheese;

Eggs;

Vegetables and several other items.

What was removed and what was added

New features of the agreement:

Imported apples, white cabbage, onions, beets, carrots, and potatoes have been removed.

Buckwheat has been added.

Two product groups have been more precisely defined: it is now clearly stated which cheeses (hard and semi-hard varieties with up to 45% fat content, without additives and without mold) and which specific eggs (fresh table chicken eggs) qualify for the discount.

How many people have already used it

The agreement has proven its demand since its launch.

"A total of more than 2.7 million relevant cards have been issued by trading entities, with the total discount provided amounting to approximately 202 million Belarusian rubles," noted Artur Karpovich, Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.
