The agenda of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting is extensive and diverse, emphasized Belarus Prime Minister Alexander Turčin during the meeting in a narrow composition, urging colleagues to fruitful work. On October 2, the heads of government will consider 15 issues. One of the blocks concerns industrial cooperation. There are currently 23 union projects, of which 8 are already being implemented. Funds are also available for new initiatives in the agro‑industrial complex. Also, in the EAEU, great attention is paid to the digitalization of all processes.
Andrey Slepenyev, Minister of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission:
"In the trade block we are working on a smart‑contract system that will simplify paperless trade operations not only in mutual trade but also in trade with third countries. There are very good developments in the area of medical diagnostics and everything related to medicine and educational programs. That is, the topic goes far beyond purely applied economic cooperation. The issue of the platform economy is what we should now strive for. Indeed, there is a lot of talk about this at the moment. And we hope that the Eurasian Economic Union will also be able to offer a platform for promoting these topics."
It is important that mutual trade between the EAEU countries is growing. Nevertheless, the current indicator is still far from ideal. Here the benchmark is the ASEAN integration union.
