September arrived, which meant two major autumn flower shows – roses have come. Photos of roses in different colors, varieties, shades of these "beauties" went viral on social media. They can be purchased at markets that are currently being set up in the region. Large assortments of roses can even be found on the shopping carts of the most discerning shoppers.

Alexander Maimka from Alshana district tends to them, whose area was hit by frost last night.

"You were surprised because more than half had already been bought," a woman explains. "Only medium and late varieties remain. Some will bloom in full color and delight us until the first serious frosts."

During an excursion to her own mini-greenhouse, Alexander told how she developed an interest in flowers:

"Two years ago I bought several layers of roses to decorate my garden. Then I wondered why I hadn't tried planting them myself. Instead of potatoes, I cleared a space in the yard and decided to plant roses instead. I watered them with fertilizer. And they bloomed for the first time. I didn't want to sit idle waiting for them to bloom. No one interferes with this matter so that the flowers won't wilt. Because they, like people, also feel trouble and love. If you neglect the arrangement, the petals won't please. And they also need regular tending, caring for, watering, pruning, and so on. Everything strictly according to plan and technology."

– My childhood and youth were spent in Sevastopol, where we moved together with my parents and brother after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, – the woman says. – My mother’s aunt already lived there, and she suggested we come to her. And so we set off on a long journey. I had already started school there, and I studied quite well. And how many friends I made! I still keep in touch with some of them. Back then, at the start of the 2000s, I used to visit Alshany every year to see my grandmother. And when I was 19, I met Vasily – the brother of my friend. In 2012, the Mamayka family visited Sevastopol. They visited friends and acquaintances, and Alexandra organized an excursion for her husband. They say that such an opportunity is no longer available now. Otherwise, with great pleasure they would have set off on a trip together with their children Mikola and Natallya.

– We hope that such an opportunity will arise again and I can show them the city where my youth was spent, – says Alexandra. – It is a place of incredible beauty – mountains and sea, with so many interesting historical sites around. But only Alshany do I consider my homeland, which I want to make more beautiful and blooming.
