BASIS OF CALCULATION – MINIMUM WAGE

The minimum amount of the sick leave benefit is determined based on the level of the minimum wage (MW). Currently, the MW is 858 rubles.

HOW TENURE AFFECTS THE PAYMENT AMOUNT

The amount of the benefit directly depends on the duration of contributions paid to the Federal Social Insurance Fund (FSIF):

• if the contribution tenure exceeds 10 years – the employee receives 100 % of earnings, starting from the first day of incapacity;
• if the tenure is less than 10 years – the benefit will be 80 % of earnings for the entire illness period.
