The reason is scheduled maintenance on the data network equipment of the Bank Processing Center.

When exactly should you expect disruptions?

The maintenance is scheduled for Friday, September 25, from 2:00 to 6:30.

During this period, brief service interruptions are possible — the system will keep working, but with periodic "dropouts."

What may not work?

During the specified period, the following may experience interruptions:

• bank cards — payments in stores, online, cash withdrawals
• retail and service organizations — terminals in cafes, shops, and gas stations
• cash disbursement points
• ATMs and other self-service devices
• banks' contact centers

Which banks will be affected by the restrictions?

The Bank Processing Center serves a number of Belarus's largest banks.

If you are a customer of one of these banks, you should be more careful.

What to do?

Simple recommendations

Withdraw cash in advance — if you plan urgent payments or purchases at night or early in the morning.

Don't schedule important transfers for 2:00–6:30 — there is a risk the transaction won't go through on the first attempt.

If your card doesn't work, wait a couple of minutes — the interruptions are brief, and the system should recover quickly.

Context: this is not the first time

Similar scheduled maintenance was already carried out on the night of September 11 — brief interruptions in card service were also possible then.

The Bank Processing Center regularly performs technology upgrades on its equipment, and these usually take place at night to minimize inconvenience for customers.
