The operator's workstation for remote control of quarry equipment was demonstrated by BELAZ at the international industrial exhibition "INAPRAM. Belarus", according to BelTA.

The novelty was presented by BELAZ and its partner, the company InDev Solutions. Visitors can see how the operator from the stand controls a 90-ton robotized dump truck BELAZ-7558R. The machine itself is currently located hundreds of kilometers away - at the test site "Sitnitskoe" in the Brest region.

The dump truck uses computer vision and neural network algorithms to recognize obstacles, predict movement, and make decisions independently. The dispatching system allows one specialist to monitor the operation of five autonomous machines at the same time.

Deputy Chief Designer for Digitalization of Quarry Equipment - Head of the Department of Intelligent Quarry Control Systems of JSC "BELAZ" - the managing company of the holding "BELAZ-Holding" Dmitry Elisseev said that customers are interested in equipment that can move autonomously. "Our consumers are actively interested in robotized and remotely controlled equipment. We are negotiating with a number of key customers, to whom we plan to supply BELAZ dump trucks with autonomous control," he noted.

According to Dmitry Elisseev, such solutions can help solve the problem of driver shortages, increase the efficiency of quarry equipment use, and ensure the rhythm of its operation. "In autonomous mode, the machine performs a full cycle of tasks - from loading to unloading and returning to the loading point. It builds and edits routes, controls blind spots and safety zones, and also tracks the presence of personnel near the equipment. Such solutions can be used in remote quarries where there is a lack of personnel, and in areas with autonomous vehicle traffic," added Dmitry Elisseev.

The General Director of JSC "BELAZ" - the managing company of the holding "BELAZ-Holding" Sergey Lesin noted that now the main task is to test the technology in real conditions. "Throughout this year, we have been refining the system to achieve maximum productivity and safety. The next stage is operation," he said.

Sergey Lesin also reported that on October 1, the technology will be demonstrated at the Sitnitskoye training ground. "Tomorrow, about 50 representatives of potential clients will visit the Brest region and see our training ground, where traditional dump trucks are working. Over the course of three days, meetings will demonstrate unmanned technologies and solutions in the field of alternative energy for quarry transport," said the general director.

At the BELAZ stand, gas engine, hydrogen, electric, and hybrid dump trucks with a payload capacity of 90 to 220 tons were also presented, developments for underground mining operations. Among the novelties is the "Hydrogen BELAZ" project, created jointly with the company "N2 Engineering". Visitors can view a model of a hybrid hydrogen power system for a 220-ton quarry dump truck and infrastructure for hydrogen refueling.

The II International Industrial Exhibition "INAPRAM. Belarus" is being held in Minsk from September 30 to October 2. It is attended by representatives of more than 40 countries. The total area of the exhibition exposition is 20 thousand square meters.
