Over nine months, revenue from health and wellness services increased by 12% compared with the same period last year and exceeded 1.088 billion rubles. These figures were cited at a press conference by Gennady Bolbatovsky, director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-and-Spa Treatment of the Population, as reported by BELTA correspondent.
"Positive dynamics are also observed in the export of services. During this period (nine months — BELTA note), 200,000 foreign citizens visited us, export revenue grew by 15% and amounted to 476 million rubles," Gennady Bolbatovsky shared.
Work is underway to develop and strengthen the material and technical base of sanatoriums. "Funds spent on purchasing equipment, construction, and reconstruction are almost 1.5 times higher than in the same period last year. This amount for the nine months totaled 194 million rubles. For comparison, last year this figure was below 140 million rubles," emphasized the center's director. He also cited one of the latest examples of modernization — a recently opened modern building at the Rassvet-Lyubань sanatorium.
Earlier, the center was allocated funds amounting to 84 million rubles for carrying out the summer health campaign. These funds enabled the health improvement of 404,000 children. "This is a record figure; the Ministry of Health assessed the therapeutic effect, which amounted to 96%," added the expert.
Socially vulnerable segments of the population were also covered to the maximum extent. More than 12,000 orphans and 7,000 disabled children underwent health improvement.
