The Committee of State Control of the Mogilev Region is conducting monitoring of the effectiveness of use of improved lands and the budget funds spent on their improvement.

Its results show that systematic work is being carried out on land reclamation in the region. By 2026, more than 5,000 hectares of land have already been brought into operation, including the reconstruction of reclamation systems on 1,700 hectares and cultural-technical works on 3,300 hectares.

At the same time, the Committee has identified cases of poor-quality execution of reclamation works, as well as overestimation of volumes at the time of object commissioning.

For example, in the Bychovsky District on the "Grezha" reclamation system near the village of Grodets, after cultural reclamation on an area of 272.2 hectares by Pyomek-85 Vodostroy OJSC, wood residues from the treated area were not removed, and the canal banks were not organized. The same company also failed to carry out required work to remove woody-shrub vegetation, plowing and discing of the area during its cultural reclamation on the "Trosna" system in 2026, which covers approximately 20 hectares. Additionally, on the "Ukhlyast" system covering 55 hectares, the planned disking and plowing were not carried out. Nevertheless, all the unperformed works were fully compensated using regional budget funds.

There are cases where improved lands are not utilized due to inaction by agricultural organizations-land users. For instance, in the Glusksky District, OJSC "Glusk-Agro" did not use 79 hectares of the "Lisa" reclamation system after carrying out cultural reclamation in 2023. Similarly, OJSC "Experimental Base 'Glusk'" did not utilize 219.4 hectares of reclamation systems "Zarudcheye" and "Ptichiy" following reconstruction work in 2023-2024.

Work is being carried out to address proposals submitted by agricultural and reclamation organizations, including eliminating violations and deficiencies, such as recovering unjustifiably received budget funds.
