Real wages in Belarus grew by 7.5% in January-June 2026 compared to the same period last year, the press service of the Belarusian Federation of Trade Unions reported.
At the FPB, the progress in implementing the general agreement between the government, trade union associations, and employers for 2025-2027 was discussed. The document defines the obligations of the social partnership parties on issues of employment, remuneration, social protection, and the provision of socio-economic guarantees to workers.
Based on the results of the first half of the year, positive dynamics are noted across key indicators. In particular, real disposable monetary income of the population amounted to 108% relative to the level of January-June 2025. This indicator exceeded the planned benchmark for the first half of the year by two times.
Wage growth continued in organizations where the wage level had previously been relatively low. Compared to the beginning of the year, the number of organizations where wages are less than 150% of the minimum wage decreased by nearly threefold. Positive dynamics are also noted in the budgetary sector. In June, the ratio of the wage level of employees of budgetary organizations to the level across the republic exceeded 81%.
The situation on the labor market improved. The unemployment rate among the working-age population declined to a record low of 2.2%. At the same time, working time losses decreased compared to the same period in 2025, and the number of workers in forced part-time employment declined by 5.9%.
Trade unions pay special attention to the timeliness of wage payments. Constant monitoring is carried out to ensure employers comply with the established deadlines for settling payments with employees.
At the same time, over seven months the trade unions identified about 220 cases of employers violating the established deadlines for paying wages and other amounts due to employees. The majority of such violations occur in organizations of the agro-industrial complex and the construction sector.
For each identified case, the trade unions take the necessary measures to promptly eliminate the violations and ensure timely settlement with employees.
