Real estate loans in Belarus. Some banks have introduced changes.

Starting October 1, 2026, Belagroprombank will reduce interest rates on previously issued housing loans. But this is conditional: only if the current rate exceeds 15.5% per annum.

And Technobank has already, as of September 18, lowered the cost of its housing programs to 14.5%.

Both measures aim to reduce citizens' debt burden and could stimulate interest in real estate loans.

Belagroprombank's new rules will affect not all loans, but only those where the interest rate exceeds 15.5% per annum. The financial institution emphasizes that the reduction will be reflected already in October's accruals.

The size of the benefit depends on the initial rate and the outstanding debt. The larger the debt and the higher the previous interest rate, the more noticeable the savings.

Real estate market analysts believe that if other banks follow suit, demand for housing loans could increase.

However, they caution against expecting an immediate rise in apartment prices: price is influenced by supply, buyers' incomes, construction volumes, and competitors' terms.

Meanwhile, Technobank has already taken a step toward borrowers. As of September 18, its housing loans "My Dear Home" and "I Will Build My Dear Home" are being issued at 14.5% per annum instead of 14.9%.
