New pedestrian paths, an entrance area, benches and lanterns: the Pin City Park of Culture and Recreation is slated for reconstruction in the near future. According to the designers shaping the look of the beloved Pin residents' leisure spot, a themed children’s café, a modern playground for toddlers, an “Autodrome” attraction and new photo zones could also appear. Zarya reported this to its readers earlier this year (issue No. 73, 16 September 2026). Once again, the newspaper’s own correspondent went to the city park to find out what else residents feel is missing for spending time in one of the most beautiful corners of old Pin.

Anatoly and Raisa Kurochkin:

– We remember those times in the 1970s when we would run to the park’s dance floor (there were no other places to dance). It was large, and the music could be heard far, far away. All the city’s youth came here, including officers of the Soviet Navy’s training detachment. There was a good beer hall where they sold draft beer. We are now retirees, but we love strolling through our native park every day. It’s pleasant to see the staff keeping it clean and orderly, but reconstruction is definitely needed. We’d like to modernize it. Personally, we miss the gazebos. One day we were walking, and it started to rain. Where to hide? In the summer stage! We took shelter from the weather there.

Olga Gavrilovich:

– I would like more children’s attractions and more greenery. Compared with parks in Minsk, their walking areas look much cozier. Here, for example, we have no paths for roller‑skating. There’s just one

– We live in the Verasy microdistrict, and we come to the park with our son for a walk. Today, we picked him up from kindergarten and came straight here. Often on weekends, we watch as older people dance on the asphalt. I think a good dance floor would be useful so they don't twist their legs. We also need additional benches.

Elena:

– If you compare it to parks in other cities, there's nowhere to take a child in Pinsk. I used to take my children to this park 25 years ago, but now I probably wouldn't. The part where the memorial complex is located is beautifully done. Here, where the attractions are, it's somehow uncomfortable, and there are few flowers. I understand that planting them in flower beds is problematic, but at least they could be put in decorative pots. I want something modern, like unusual lanterns that glow at night, and stars that light up on the trees.

Tatiana (no photo):

– We have a very beautiful park that is well taken care of, the benches are painted, and it's cleaned. Well done! We enjoy coming here. But I would like to see more entertainment for children. For example, it would be great if the park had an animator. Why not? Kids could take selfies with them. In Brest, when you walk along the embankment, a fountain turns on. Why can't we have one like that? Pinsk is a beautiful and attractive city for visitors. It's time to make some changes.
