In today’s conditions, higher education cannot be confined to the walls of lecture halls. To prepare a specialist capable of leading high‑technology production or implementing innovations in agriculture tomorrow, immersion in the environment is essential. At the Belarus State Agricultural Academy, industrial educational tourism has become an integral part of the learning process, allowing students to see the real sector of the economy from within.

In the current academic year, the itinerary covered the country’s key enterprises. For BGSHA students, these visits are not merely excursions but an opportunity to align academic knowledge with real production processes.

From theory to practice

Each department of the university has devised its own unique route based on its training profile. For example, students of the Biotechnology and Aquaculture faculty studied production scales at OAO “BelAZ”, the Mogilev Meat Plant, and the “Babushkina Krynka” holding; students from the Agro‑technology faculty acquainted themselves with the high‑technology lines of CJSC “Atlant”; representatives of the Agricultural Mechanization faculty visited the production facilities of OAO “Belshina”; the Soil‑remediation and Construction faculty went to the confectionery factory “Kommunarka”; students of the Management and Social Communications faculty examined business processes at OAO “Vitebsk Carpets”; and the Accounting faculty studied at KUP “Minsk Cold Combinate No. 2”.

Synthesis of professionalism and patriotism

Special emphasis at BGSHA is placed on the educational component. Educational trips here fundamentally combine acquaintance with industrial giants and visits to iconic sites of historical memory.

Thus, economics students, after visiting OAO “Mogilev Ice Cream Factory”, went to honor the memory of the militia battalion fighters who defended Mogilev in July 1941, to the memorial in the agrarian town of Pashkovo, and after a tour of LLC “MotoVeloZavod” they visited the Belarus State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk. A similar approach was applied at the Land‑use faculty: a visit to OAO “Krasny Pishchevik” was supplemented by a trip to the memorial “In Memory of the Burned Villages of the Mogilev Region” in the village of Borki.
