Chairman of Bobruisk City Administration Maxim Guren held a working meeting with trade leaders of the city. The agenda included implementing products of domestic production, including those from the Mogilov Region. Chairperson of the Bobruisk City Council Deputies Irina Ryneyskaya attended the meeting.

Elena Semenchuk, head of the Trade and Services Management of Bobruisk City Administration, presented a report. The essence of the problem was stated directly: in Bobruisk there has been a decline in the share of domestic product sales. According to the results of the first half of 2026, the share in the city's retail turnover amounted to 58.2% – 4 percentage points lower than in a comparable period last year. Elena Anatolievna emphasized: the target indicator set by the decision of the Mogilov Regional Executive Committee – not less than 59.4%. During regular inspections of trade objects, systemic violations were identified. In some stores domestic goods are offered in a narrow range, imported products occupy priority places, while Bobruisk and Mogilev goods are placed on lower shelves in hard-to-reach zones for customers.

Separately, Elena Semenchuk noted that several trade chains forecast a decline in the share of domestic production in retail turnover for January-September 2026. Elena Anatolievna reminded: since September 10, Belarus has been under the force of the resolution of the Ministry of Anti-monetary Regulation and Trade No. 48, which introduced a normative requirement for the presence of Belarusian products in the retail assortment. The document establishes the minimum number of varieties of domestic goods required to be present on the shelf depending on the format and area of the trade object.

Maxim Guren expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the trade chains. The chairman emphasized: the task of city development is common to everyone – for power, for producers, and for trade. It is extremely important to support local manufacturers and ensure the shelves are filled with domestic goods.

"We have our own meat plant, we produce sunflower and rapeseed oil, bread, grains, dairy products – and this is not available on the shelves of our stores," Maxim Nikolaevich emphasized. "Of course, an alternative must be present. But we should also be proud that what we have is local, high-quality. And people who come to your stores want to see on the shelves what is produced in Bobruisk."

The chairman of the city executive committee separately focused on issues of service culture and improvement.

"Many have forgotten that order must be maintained not only on the counters, but also at the retail outlet itself. If you operate a high-service store, you must ensure customer comfort so that they do not encounter an overflowing trash bin or unmowed grass on the porch," remarked Maxim Gurin.

The open dialogue between the authorities and the retail sector concluded with an instruction to submit forecast indicators within the established timeframe and ensure the priority promotion of goods from domestic manufacturers, including products from the Mogilev region, on the shelves of the city's retail outlets.
