PC gamers will be able to launch GTA 6 — all thanks to an exclusive deal with Microsoft.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma told company employees that Microsoft is preparing to do something with GTA 6 that "no other platform owner will do." According to insiders, this statement is related to the fact that Xbox managed to secure an exclusive deal tied to the upcoming release of the Rockstar Games title. In the future, Xbox will be able to distribute the game via its Xbox Cloud Gaming cloud service.

According to the terms of the deal, at launch, streaming of GTA 6 will be available only through Xbox Cloud Gaming. Rockstar Games has not yet announced a PC version of GTA 6, so this deal will allow Xbox to promote the Xbox Cloud Gaming service among PC gamers. They will be able to try out the game without purchasing an Xbox Series X/S.

It is also reported that next month Microsoft will open access to Xbox Cloud Gaming with a pay‑as‑you‑go option. This option is said to be "ideal" for those who do not own an Xbox but want to play GTA 6.

Reminder: the game’s release is scheduled for November 19, 2026. GTA 6 will launch on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
