Today he is responsible not only for the production process, but also for the team, in which each employee contributes to the common cause. In automobile production, the result depends on everyone. There are no insignificant links: if one of them fails, the whole process is interrupted. Pavel knows this from firsthand experience.

– I have been working at the plant for more than nine years. I started as a mechanic in assembly work. After acquiring professional skills and experience, management offered me to become a shop foreman. I held that position for four years, and then I was appointed head of the assembly shop section. I started from the bottom, gradually gaining experience and mastering new areas.

• What is the most responsible and what is the most interesting part of being a section head? – Our shop deals with automobile assembly. I believe this is one of the key stages of production, because that is where the car is actually born. The most responsible task is to properly organize the team to achieve the set goals. Production can be compared to a chain: it has many links, and if one link fails, the chain breaks. There is also great responsibility in decision‑making. How quickly and effectively you act largely determines the further work of production. I believe that a leader must go through the production process himself. When you know the work from the inside, you understand much better what a person standing at the machine or performing a specific operation needs.
• Today, robotic mechanisms are used in your section. How do they help in the work? – Of course, robotics significantly eases labor. We have few robots as such, for example, one is used for applying glue. But there are also robotic carts that install the engine and chassis onto the car body. In such processes, human involvement is minimized. This allows reducing the workload on workers and at the same time the risk of errors, since many operations are performed automatically and with high precision.
• What does Machine Builder's Day mean to you personally?

– First of all, this is our professional holiday. It’s an opportunity to sum up the year: what we managed to do, what results we achieved, what heights we conquered. I wish everyone good health. That’s the most important thing. When a person is healthy, they want to work, create, develop, and achieve something. Of course, I wish everyone the fulfillment of their goals, professional and personal growth. And I would also wish that every person feels comfortable at work, knowing that at home they are awaited and loved.

• Work takes up a lot of time. What helps you switch gears and relax?

– I love spending my free time with family. This year my wife and I bought a dacha. Now we’re doing repairs and landscaping. It’s a chance to get distracted, to switch focus, because the workload at work is really serious. Also, I’ve loved technology since childhood. Probably my father passed that love on to me. I’ve always enjoyed making things with my own hands, understanding cars, fixing them. So now, whenever I have free time, you can often find me working on some technical project.
