Six crimes committed using information and communication technologies have been registered.
Employees of the Department for Organization of Processing Fraudulent Operations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs blocked the possibility of payments to 15 foreign payment details used by the perpetrators, and also suspended expenditure operations on 184 accounts.
Operatives detained three couriers working for the fraudsters.
"By the method of committing unlawful acts, citizens most often fall into the trap of fraudsters when purchasing goods online. Then come vishing in the name of officials (telephone fraud) and thefts using social networks," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
Thanks to the promptness of internal affairs officers and the vigilance of citizens, the overwhelming majority of crimes have been prevented. Work to identify and stop fraudulent actions continues.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that offers of quick and easy earnings or purchasing goods at significantly reduced prices online are invariably associated with the risk of losing money. To avoid falling into the fraudsters' nets, when communicating by phone, one must immediately end the conversation and report to the police.
