MTS has presented the results of its fifth‑generation network development. 5G internet operates on roughly 1.1 thousand base stations, and the coverage area spans more than 400 square kilometres across Minsk, Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel and Mogilev. Work is ongoing to prepare for a launch in Grodno.

5G provides higher speeds and minimal latency, opening up a wide range of use cases—from work and study to high‑resolution streaming. Today, the fifth‑generation network covers central districts, most residential neighborhoods, business centers, social facilities, key transport corridors, industrial zones and popular leisure spots.

To let subscribers assess network availability at a specific location, MTS publishes a detailed coverage map. It can be viewed and the presence of 5G in one’s area checked on the official website.

Recall that MTS launched 5G at the beginning of April. The phased rollout is being carried out in partnership with beCloud, which provides access to the infrastructure. The technology works on Android smartphones whose manufacturers have supplied hardware and software support for 5G in Belarus.
