MTS is opening autumn enrollment for the free online digital literacy school #НаучиСвоихБлизких. The project aims to help the older generation confidently enter the digital world. Classes will begin in October, and registration is already open.
September is traditionally associated with the start of the school year. MTS suggests looking at this tradition more broadly: if children go to school for new knowledge, why shouldn't their grandparents do the same — except instead of primers and notebooks, they will have messengers, geo-services, and AI.
For beginners and for the "advanced"
The training program is designed with the initial level of knowledge in mind. The basic course is intended for those who are just starting to get acquainted with a smartphone: participants will learn to manage the device, create an email account, use a browser and messengers, and also learn the main rules of safe behavior online. The advanced level, on the contrary, is for those who already feel more confident and want to broaden their horizons: the program includes paying utility bills, ordering groceries and medicines, making doctor's appointments, plotting routes in geo-services, submitting requests to 115.бел, and working with AI.
Each course includes 10 online lessons. The webinars combine a lecture portion, practical assignments, and additional video materials that allow participants to reinforce what they have learned at their own pace. The classes are led by a trained specialist, and children and grandchildren can help the participants. That is precisely the idea of the project: learning together, offering tips and support.
Free and from anywhere in the country
Participation in the project is completely free. The training is conducted remotely, making the course accessible to residents of large cities and small towns — all you need is an internet-connected device and the desire to learn.
You can study from any device — a smartphone, tablet, or computer. To join the project, you need to register on the project's website. Everyone who successfully completes the program will receive a certificate from MTS, confirming their acquired digital skills.
