More than 100,000 rubles were lost by residents of the Mogilev region as a result of cybercrimes over the past week. Law enforcement officers registered a total of 20 such cases.
According to the police, scammers most often deceived citizens under the guise of earning money by investing in stocks or cryptocurrency. Other common schemes included telephone fraud and deception when purchasing goods online.
At the same time, due to the preventive work of law enforcement, it was possible to save more than 23,000 rubles belonging to residents of the region.
The police remind citizens that for transactions involving cryptocurrency and securities, only official platforms should be used, and website addresses should be carefully verified. One should not transfer money to strangers who promise to quickly multiply savings.
Offers of easy earnings and goods at suspiciously low prices online may turn out to be fraudulent schemes.
