The Mogilev region plans to step up cooperation with China's Shaanxi province. This was reported by Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko on the air of the Pervy Informatsionny TV channel.

Anatoly Isachenko headed the official delegation of the Mogilev region in Xi'an (PRC) on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of twin-city relations with Shaanxi province. According to him, almost everything that had been planned earlier has been accomplished. The new stage is the signing of a roadmap for the next period. The document should be filled with specific projects, some of which were discussed during the negotiations.

Chinese partners are interested in organizing the production of tower cranes, which are needed in Belarus, on the basis of Strommashina (a branch of OJSC BELAZ). The project is at the stage of elaboration. Proposals for cooperation with Mogilevtransmash and other areas of interaction were also voiced.

“This includes the creation of joint ventures for the production of livestock products, dairy products, beef cattle breeding, and active cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. Agreements have been signed between the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy and the Northwest University of the People's Republic of China. The project has already been implemented. An agreement has been signed between Mogilev State University named after A.A. Kuleshov and Xi'an International Studies University. That is, cooperation is proceeding in many areas,” said Anatoly Isachenko, adding that tourism was also discussed.

During the visit, the delegation visited a number of enterprises, where it familiarized itself with developments in the field of artificial intelligence. A business forum was held, where business circles of Belarus and China presented each other's opportunities and discussed options for interaction.

“The basis of the region's development is investment. We grow every year — about 115-120% (investment growth rate. — BELTA's note),” noted Anatoly Isachenko. “Our task is not only to maintain but also to increase the pace. Today, about 14 companies from China operate in the region. We are trying to attract more Chinese investors with larger projects.”

The parties expect to sign a new cooperation roadmap in 2027 at the Forum of Regions of Belarus and China.
