The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) issued warnings to Minsktrans after complaints from two private carriers. The companies wanted to launch new bus routes from Minsk to Poland and Lithuania, but were unable to agree on a schedule.
According to MART documents, the company Vadzen Trans, operating under the Poehali.by brand, planned to open two international routes: to Vilnius with a departure from Minsk at 12:30 and to Bialystok - Warsaw with a departure at 10:30.
Another carrier, Sandita (Sundita Travel), wanted to launch two year-round flights to Warsaw - at 12:00 and 22:30.
Both companies applied for schedule approval to Minsktrans, as this is necessary to obtain permission for international transportation. However, they received a refusal.
MART considered that such actions may restrict competition in the market for international bus transportation. At the same time, the agency noted that earlier Minsktrans had approved schedules for other carriers with coinciding departure times or a minimal interval between flights.
As a result, Minsktrans was issued warnings and required to reconsider the carriers' applications. By November 9, the company must notify them of the results.
