Alexander Zenkov, head of the fruit storage facility at the "Industrial Horticulture" division of the Tolochin Canning Plant: "At present, over 2,000 tons of apples are stored in the cold stores. These are Belarusian varieties: 'Belarusian Sweet,' 'Syabryna,' 'Veselina,' and 'Antonovka.' The apples are stored at temperatures between 0°C and +3°C. In the future, we plan to harvest later varieties, such as 'Gloucester,' which can be stored until May or June. Apples that are not destined for the industrial supply chain will go to industrial processing for juice production."
The apple harvest will continue until the beginning of November. A total of 25,000 tons will be placed in the stable fund, which will be enough to provide this useful Belarusian fruit until the next season.
