Prisozhsky Krai, April 9, 2026, 14:06. Today, April 9, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank Roman Golovchenko met with Chief Investment Officer of the Oman Investment Agency Ibrahim Al-Eisri. The main goal was to discuss progress on a number of major projects planned for implementation with the participation of the Oman Investment Agency in Belarus.
“The Republic of Belarus pays considerable attention to developing relations with the Sultanate of Oman, which it regards as one of its most important strategic partners in the region. A high level of friendly relations is taking shape between the states in both the political and trade-economic spheres.”
The Chairman of the Board of the National Bank noted that the agreements reached at the level of the heads of the two states make it possible to significantly intensify interaction and move forward in areas of mutual interest.
“Just last week, the first meeting of the Joint Committee on Cooperation and Investment between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Sultanate of Oman was held in Muscat. And already today in Minsk we are discussing issues of bilateral interaction and specific initiatives,” Roman Golovchenko added.
During the meeting, he also emphasized that our country is open to any proposals for cooperation in the investment, trade-economic, and banking spheres.
“We count on the intensification of bilateral relations with the understanding that there are no problems that cannot be solved,” added the Chairman of the Board of the National Bank.
In turn, the Chief Investment Officer of the Oman Investment Agency said that the goal of their agency is to develop long-term partnerships, provide comprehensive investment support, and facilitate the sustainable growth of its partners:
“As Oman’s main investment agency, we have an extensive network of more than 15 regional offices around the world. An office has also been opened in Belarus, and a team of professionals has been formed to work effectively on the local market. We are ready to consider a wide variety of cooperation formats, utilizing not only our own resources as investments but also the capabilities of leading investors.”
He emphasized that under the strategic leadership of the president of the Oman Investment Agency, for whom this project has become a personal priority, they intend to launch one of the key initiatives — the creation of the so-called food basket of the future.
— Given that Belarus possesses rich land and water resources, we plan to develop large-scale projects capable not only of uniting our countries but also of delivering significant commercial benefits for all participants, — stressed the chief investment officer of the Oman Investment Agency.
