A new production has been launched in the steel foundry shop of the Minsk Tractor Plant. Technology for producing cast iron from the plant's own cast iron chips has been introduced. This was reported by BELTA in the press service of MTZ.
Previously, after mechanical processing, the chips were briquetted and shipped outside the plant. Now a closed-loop cycle has been organized: the chips are remelted into cast iron ingots and used in the charge to produce new castings.
This solution reduces dependence on purchased cast iron and provides a significant annual economic effect due to the difference between the purchase price and the cost of in-house production.
