President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko intends to comprehensively assess the development of electric transport in the country. This was stated by the Head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Krutoy on the Belarus 1 TV channel, reports sb.by.

As reported on air, by the end of the year the Head of State intends to assess the situation at many enterprises in the industrial sector.

'We plan an interesting visit to our leading manufacturer of electromechanical transport — Belkommunmash. Over the past few years, many decisions have been made regarding the development of pilot cities, their transition to electric bus service — Zhodino, Shklov, Novopolotsk. Regarding the replacement of part of the route transport between Minsk and satellite cities with electric buses, plus the prospects for developing our electric bus cluster, because this type of equipment is also produced by MAZ, and the Stadler plant is involved in this work,' said Dmitry Krutoy.

Moreover, the President is generally interested in how the task of increasing electricity consumption is being addressed, taking into account the launch of the design capacity of the Belarusian NPP and its integration into the country's power system.

'The direction of electric traction equipment is very promising. There is a huge demand, including from the Russian market, i.e., serious export opportunities. Therefore, the President wants to comprehensively look at this story,' added Dmitry Krutoy.

Separate attention will be paid to the agro-industrial complex. Earlier Alexander Lukashenko himself announced the holding of a large meeting on this issue. One of the main thematic blocks will be devoted to the flax-growing industry.

'Our industrial flagships are implementing a number of projects, including those related to the use of integration funds from credit resources allocated by the Russian Federation. This is the production of products for our union market. They invite the President to visit a number of enterprises related to this line,' said the Head of the Presidential Administration.

Dmitry Krutoy reminded that a decision has already been made to hold the next meeting of the ВНС in mid-December, so the Head of State 'is gathering material on what the republic's economy lives on and how major assignments for the development of new industries are being fulfilled.'
