In Lithuania, a major scandal is erupting over a lavish corporate event organized by the Ministry of Defense.

Local journalists published the budget for the party for 200 ministry employees, which cost nearly 50,000 euros. Practically the entire sum was covered directly from the country's defense budget.

The program for Lithuanian security forces included everything: rental of an upscale venue, exquisite catering, performances by popular pop singers, payment to an illusionist, souvenirs, and even 4,500 euros for "unforeseen expenses." President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda has already reacted harshly to the incident, stating that such expenditures completely discredit all defense financing, and demanded that the ministry conduct a principled assessment of what happened.
