The minister noted that Vilnius intends to assess the situation soberly. The head of the Lithuanian government explained that such a step could be taken only on security grounds.
Meanwhile, the Lithuanian intelligence services have not provided any information suggesting the need to close the border.
Earlier, the Seimas called on the authorities to follow Riga's example and completely ban regular bus services to Belarus and Russia from 2027. However, the Lithuanian prime minister reminded that elections are coming up in Latvia, so a variety of political proposals may be heard in Riga.
