At the Kor'malen plant in the Kormyansky district, a large‑scale reconstruction is being completed. It is carried out under the presidential program “One District – One Project,” said the plant’s chief engineer Svetlana Sukharkova.

New two‑stream lines are being installed here for the simultaneous production of long and short flax fibers. The equipment is automated and computerized. The facility is more than 90 % ready. The main construction and installation work is finished, and the installation and commissioning of equipment from a Chinese manufacturer are underway. The chief installer is a representative of the manufacturing company.

The projected capacity for processing flax straw is 4.6 thousand tonnes per year. The nominal throughput of raw material is 1.2 thousand kilograms per hour. Launching the new lines will create up to 20 jobs. Implementing the project will increase production output, reduce costs, and boost profits.

The building covers about 3 thousand square metres. They are also reconstructing the shuka—a cover for storing raw material—and building a new storage facility to accommodate the expanded sowing areas.

The work is expected to be finished and the lines launched in October. This year’s harvest will be partially processed on the new facilities. At the same time, the surrounding area is being beautified. Several crews and dozens of specialists work at the site every day.
