Belarusian banks have introduced another round of changes. This time they concern deposits.
Thus, starting September 22, Sber Bank reduced interest rates on time non-withdrawable deposits in Belarusian rubles and suspended acceptance of additional contributions on some long-term deposits.
Following it, Belarusbank and Technobank lowered rates on ruble deposits, while MTBank increased the yield on dollar deposits for 12 months.
These changes affected depositors throughout the country.
Sber Bank made the most significant adjustments. Starting September 22, the yield on its time non-withdrawable ruble deposits decreased.
Specifically, for the “Save” deposit with a term from 366 to 549 days, interest is now accrued at 11.5% per annum.
Moreover, the bank temporarily does not accept additional contributions on two long-term products — “Save” and “Premium Trust” (term 1450–1500 days), opened from July 1 to August 27.
Belarusbank lowered rates on ruble deposits by 0.2 percentage points. The “Successful Non-withdrawable” deposit for 13 months yields 11.85% per annum, and for 37 months — 13.9%.
MTBank, on the contrary, improved conditions for dollar holders. The “Actual Non-withdrawable for 12 months” and “Actual Online (non-withdrawable)” deposits now offer 0.5% per annum, which is 0.4 percentage points higher than before.
Technobank reduced the yield on some ruble deposits. “Our Future” now yields 13.5% per annum (minus 0.7 percentage points), and “Optimal in BYN Online” — 7% (minus 1.5 percentage points).
