"Spider-Man: New Day" hit theaters at the end of July and in just a few months became the third highest-grossing film in history. However, relatively soon the movie may appear in digital on streaming services. And there's also a possibility that a re-release with new scenes is being planned for the film.

The publication When To Stream reports that the digital release will take place as early as next week — October 6. That said, Sony has not yet officially confirmed the data (though it hasn't denied it either). Previously, it was assumed that "New Day" would appear in online format later, on November 17.

Either way: the new "Spider-Man" was released in foreign theaters on July 31. In the time since — essentially two months — the film has earned $2.49 billion. That made it the third highest-grossing film of all time.

However, a rumor recently surfaced online: an extended version of the film is supposedly already in production — and they want to release it in theaters again. But it's not exactly clear when. This version will add scenes that previously had to be cut. For example, a segment with nurse Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) is mentioned.

It's worth noting: Sony, again, is not commenting on the preparation of such a re-release. But online, people believe that interest could have been spurred by the fact that in the U.S., "New Day" never reached $1 billion — yet it's only $50 million short of that mark.
