
The Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has determined how Belarusians manage their money, whether they have enough for daily expenses, and what they choose between high earnings and free time. In the study conducted in July–August 2026 at the request of BISI, 2045 people from all regions of the country participated.
One question concerned savings. 41.3% of respondents said they spend all their money and don't save anything. Another 33.4% use loans or installment payments. Meanwhile, 28.1% make cash savings in Belarusian rubles, while 12.4% send free money to bank deposits.
Participants were also asked if they had enough money for different categories of expenses. The following picture emerged:
