The first batch of covered wagons produced by JSC “Osipovichsky Transport Engineering Plant” was delivered to the Belarusian Railway, BELTA reported at the BZD press center.

The covered wagons are a new type of product for the Osipovichsky plant. As noted at the press center, this is the result of collaboration with a manufacturer in the field of import substitution. “The introduction of the covered wagon into production was preceded by experimental design work. A prototype was produced, its testing and certification were carried out, and the production was prepared for serial output,” the BZD said.

They also developed the production of a railway trolley in Osipovichi, which is used for rolling under freight wagons, including during the manufacture of covered wagons.

The plant produces a covered wagon with an all‑metal body of 152 cubic metres and a load capacity of over 69 tonnes, intended for transporting unit, boxed, packaged, bulk, and other goods that require protection from weather.

The rolling stock is in demand for transporting a wide range of goods on both domestic and export routes, and it will be put into service from the first days of operation. It is planned that the first loading site for the new Belarusian‑made covered wagons will be one of the enterprises of the “Belgosposhchprom” group.

The Osipovichsky Transport Engineering Plant is a new, modern enterprise that produces freight railway rolling stock, universal containers, and tank containers. The plant’s production capacity allows for the manufacture of up to 2,000 freight wagons per year. Its products are sold in the markets of Belarus, the Russian Federation, and Kazakhstan.
